Reach the OwningCost team for editorial corrections, methodology questions, partnership inquiries, or feature requests. We read every message; we respond when a response is warranted.
The fastest way
Email hello@owningcost.com. Include enough context that a reply can be useful — the calculator or guide you're referencing, what you saw, and what you expected. Screenshots help.
Editorial corrections
If you've found a factual error in a guide, a miscalibrated default in a calculator, or a stale link, send the URL and the issue. Substantive corrections are made within a few business days and noted on the page. Methodology disagreements (you'd use a different default, a different formula, a different threshold) are also welcome — the methodology page documents our choices, but they're choices, and we update them when a better case is made.
Methodology and math questions
If a calculator output doesn't match your situation and you can't tell why, the methodology page is the reference for every default and formula. If a question still remains, write — we'd rather extend the documentation than have it stay opaque.
Partnership inquiries
We don't accept paid placement, lead-generation partnerships, or affiliate relationships with mortgage originators, brokerages, or insurance carriers. We're open to non-commercial partnerships with academic researchers, journalists working on housing-cost stories, and educational institutions. Please describe what you're working on.
Press and interviews
Email with the outlet, the topic, and the deadline. We can comment on housing-cost methodology, calculator design, and the structural issues with the current online housing-content ecosystem. We do not comment on individual rate or price predictions.
Bug reports
If a calculator is broken — the math looks wrong, the page doesn't render, an input doesn't accept a valid value — please include your browser, device, and the inputs that triggered it. We can fix what we can reproduce.
